I have long enjoyed reading the testimonies in The Christian Science Journal and in the Sentinel, and they have been on numerous occasions a source of comfort to me and my family. Now I should like to add my testimony. When Christian Science found me I was suffering from what the doctors diagnosed as a diseased condition of the throat. This had afflicted me for a long time.

I took up the study of Science and attended a Church of Christ, Scientist, becoming very interested in the teachings of this religion. When the diseased condition was at its worst, and great fear beset me, I sought the aid of a practitioner, who steadied my thinking and allayed my fears by giving me comfort and assurance. After she took up work for me my fear was destroyed, and the throat condition began to fade. The healing was not instantaneous, but in the process of striving for it I gained more spiritual understanding and a greater affection for Science. The healing brought a change in my way of living that was most gratifying, for away went all desire for alcohol and tobacco. Profanity and a tendency towards malicious criticism also vanished and did not return.

Through the help of the same practitioner my thought was directed to Love's ability to meet all human needs, and I ceased to experience lack. Also acute abdominal pain was healed.

For all that Christian Science has done and is doing for us all, I am very grateful. I here express thanks to God, our Father, for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church and for the privilege of class instruction, which taught me to apply the truth for myself. I close with gratitude to our great Master, Christ Jesus, and to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, the two great benefactors of mankind to whom we owe so much.—Alan Crawford, Kingsford, New South Wales, Australia.
