THE MORNING WATCH
The
midnight hour is past;
We see the gentle dawn appear,
We claim our victory—we hold it fast—
For Love has banished pain and fear.
Now is the time to gather courage new,
Rededicate our lives to tasks ahead.
Nor take one backward glance—resolved to do
As Mind directs. So we are comforted.
And as we greet the radiance of the day.
See now what fertile fields our hands employ,
To till and plant and garner in Love's way,
Reclothed in Christly purity and sinless joy.
