While I was attending a university it became necessary for me to discontinue my studies because of a serious heart condition. The attending physicians stated that I would always be an invalid and could never be active again. Inasmuch as I had been a very active individual, this presented a most discouraging outlook.

Among my friends were several students of Christian Science, one of whom recommended to me that I have Christian Science treatment. One day, when I seemed especially engulfed in despair, I was led to telephone a practitioner for an appointment. Much to my astonishment the practitioner requested me to come to his office. I dressed and proceeded to keep the appointment. It was as though I had returned to my home, so loving and comforting was the practitioner's thought.

Though the physical symptoms did not disappear for several months, my consciousness became free from fear and despair. My health continued to improve, and my work and environment became more harmonious. Some time later I had a glorious holiday in the mountains, where I took long hikes and swam in cold mountain lakes, thus proving that the heart condition had been completely healed. I have been a most energetic person for many years and have enjoyed a normal, active life.
