It is with deep gratitude that I submit this testimony of the healing power of Christian Science. I first heard of this Science from my grandmother, who was a devoted student.

My first healing was at the age of fourteen, when I was instantaneously healed of an infected finger. My parents, who were not Christian Scientists, were about to call a physician, but I asked them to wait just a little while before doing so. Having been told that Truth heals, I wanted to prove it for myself.

I had accepted the fact that God is all-powerful and cares for His children, and I knew beyond a doubt that He would take care of me in this situation. Although it was hard at first to think clearly because of the pain, I knew that as God's child I could never be separated for an instant from Him. Immediately the passage from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy came to thought (p. 14), "Become conscious for a single moment that Life and intelligence are purely spiritual, —neither in nor of matter,—and the body will then utter no complaints."
