How I rejoice in this opportunity...

How I rejoice in this opportunity to express my deep gratitude to God for the constant love He shows us in supplying our needs. In 1948 my husband passed on, and it was a thorny path which I trod for a time. I endeavored to make a living by selling goods from house to house, but this activity did not bring in very much. Then came an angel thought which led me to apply for a position with a large firm in which my husband had worked for some years. My application was accepted, and I was promised work for four months. My joy and gratitude to God were very great.

Soon, however, it appeared that it would not be simple for me to take up such work. I was strengthened and encouraged by the practitioner to whom I turned for help at that time. He made it clear to me that man has divine intelligence by reason of his reflection of God. I found strength in the evenings after my strenuous business activity to refresh my knowledge of English and to learn English stenography, enabling me to be equal to the requirements made of me. As I held to the thought that man is always in the place in which God has put him I adjusted myself to my work and had the great happiness of having it extended from month to month until I had been in my position for eleven months.

At the end of that time I was given a vacation, following which my employment would end. Again it was the loving work of the practitioner which set me on the right path. He encouraged me with these words: "The thread of God's plan for you is not broken. Your industry will very soon be rewarded, and you may find a new position even before you have finished your paid vacation." Human opinion was saying something quite different: "There is no work for you at the employment office. No one has noticed your advertisement. You will scarcely find a new position at your age."
