I am very grateful that I was brought up in a Christian Science family and had the privilege of attending Sunday School, for it was at that time that the seeds of Truth were sown in my thought. The Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly mean a great deal to me when I ponder them until I gain the full joy of thorough comprehension. Many inharmonies have been overcome during the years, sometimes by my own efforts and sometimes with the help of loving practitioners, to whom I am most grateful.

For over forty years I was an abject slave to tobacco, and although I had tried many times to stop its use and had succeeded for periods of time, I always went back to it again. Finally I realized that I must rely completely on divine Mind, for in reality there is and can be but one power, namely, God. Our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, says in Science and Health (p. 167), "Only through radical reliance on Truth can scientific healing power be realized." I asked a practitioner for help and was entirely healed in one treatment.

In my occupation I am required to ride in a locomotive every day, and at one time this caused me much pain in the back, due to jolting. To relieve the condition a brace was made for me to strap on while at work. However, I became convinced that all the support I needed was the truth that Christian Science teaches, and I placed myself under a practitioner's care. The support was not used after treatment started, and in a very short time the pain cleared up entirely. This healing occurred more than two years ago and has been complete.
