"BE GRATEFUL THAT IT ISN'T TRUE!"

"Be grateful that it isn't true!"

These words fell upon the ear of a mother overwhelmed with fear for her small child, who lay ill with a fever.

For a moment the words startled the young mother. She left the telephone and walked to the bedside of her baby daughter. She thought, "How can I be grateful when this sickness seems so true?" But the words of the practitioner persisted: "Be grateful that it isn't true!" Then the light of spiritual understanding began to permeate her thinking, and through the knowledge of that all-pervading love of God which is always present the fears of mortal mind began to dissolve. She said: "I know that God made everything and that He made everything good; then this condition isn't true. If God is everywhere, and I know that He is, then right where there seems to be pain and discord, there is the very presence of harmony, the very presence of God constantly revealing to man his spiritual, eternal nature. Therefore, no matter how bad the picture which sense testimony tries to present, I can be grateful that I know it isn't true because my Father-Mother gives me the ability to know what is true!"
