For a long time I have wanted to express through our periodicals my gratitude for Christian Science. It has proved to me that "man's extremity is God's opportunity."

My first healing came when the future seemed very dark. While teaching school in the city in which I now live, I was stricken with a nervous breakdown and was advised by my physician to get away from the schoolroom and go to the country. I did not go to the country, although I resigned from teaching. As I continued to grow worse every day, I went to a specialist. He and his staff gave me a thorough examination. The diagnosis showed heart trouble, an ulcerated stomach, a bad liver, and other complications. As there was no promise of a healing, I became very fearful and discouraged.

After six months of medical treatment and another month of chiropractic treatment my finances became exhausted. I was physically worse off than ever and spent many sleepless nights. One night I prayed earnestly, "O God, show me what to do." The next morning some Christian Science literature was brought to me by a neighbor.
