My heart is overflowing with gratitude to God for Christian Science. It was presented to me by a dear friend at a time when I was groping in mental darkness, trying to reconcile the concept of a good God with all the evil and distress I saw in the world. The reading of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy enabled me to see that because God is good and is All-in-all evil is an unreal concept, an illusion. With this clearing of my mental vision came a healing of the need for wearing glasses. This occurred over twenty years ago, and there has since been no need for glasses.

I have had many other physical healings, sometimes through my own work for enlightenment from God and sometimes with the aid of a faithful practitioner. Among these healings have been those of granulated eyelids, painful swellings, and influenza, which was healed instantaneously. I am most grateful for the overcoming of mental darkness and periods of depression, as well as for a beautiful healing of grief, which brought with it an increased understanding of God as Life. My gratitude for this last-mentioned healing was so great that I had an overwhelming desire to serve the Cause through active branch church membership. This desire enabled me to overcome the tobacco and alcohol habits.

The application of Mrs. Eddy's beautiful statement (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 307), "God gives you His spiritual ideas, and in turn, they give you daily supplies," has met our every need of supply. Christian Science is of inestimable value in raising our child.
