I took up the study of Christian Science nearly twenty years ago, after trying electrical treatment, massage, and other material remedies for rheumatoid arthritis. Also I had been informed by a throat specialist that I must have an operation, as poison from septic tonsils was rapidly going all through my body. While I was waiting for the operation a woman, who had been blind for twenty years, told me of her healing through Christian Science. I remarked that if God could heal her, He could heal me. She brought me my first copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy and whenever possible came to read to me. I am most grateful for all the help and encouragement she gave me, for the throat condition was healed through Science; and I did not have the operation.

I was healed of the rheumatoid arthritis in less than twelve months through this friend's help and through the reading of Science and Health. When both my husband and my mother passed on less than two weeks apart I was completely healed of any sense of grief.

During the early stages of the Second World War, I saw the need of a house for accommodating many who had to leave their homes, some for business reasons and others for rest away from London during the air raids. Through the realization that supply meets demand I was able to get everything needed for this house at a time of shortage. Through the same realization I was again provided for when later I took another house, which I still have and which has met the needs of many, including young people in service.
