Gratitude for the privilege of witnessing the power of Truth as revealed in Christian Science impels this testimony. I have been a student of Christian Science over twenty-five years, during which time I have seen problems many and varied healed solely by an understanding of the power and presence of God, Truth, put into practice by consecrated practitioners and students of this Science.

While I was using a paper cutter the heavy, sharp blade fell across my thumbnail, cutting through to the flesh. For a moment the pain was excruciating, but upon my immediate application of the truth the pain ceased. The blood, however, began to flow profusely. Suddenly I remembered that Jesus healed instantly a woman who had had "an issue of blood twelve years" (Mark 5:25). A clear realization filled my consciousness that the same power and presence of God is ever at hand and was with me there and then. The flow of blood stopped immediately. This happened at noon, and an hour later only a thin, pale line was visible across the thumbnail. No material remedy of any kind was used.

I also experienced a complete and permanent healing of chronic tonsillitis. Symptoms of blood poisoning disappeared within four hours after absent treatment was given; and a sprained ankle was healed overnight. At another time a sprained or possibly broken wrist was healed without medical care. Supply has come to me from most unexpected sources, and protection from danger has been experienced on several occasions. Twice I was quickly healed of grief when dear ones passed on. These are only a few of the proofs I have had of God's unfailing care for His children. My heart is filled with gratitude to God for Christ Jesus, for his teachings and example, and for his promise of the Comforter, Christian Science. For the pure consciousness and courage of our beloved Leader.
