Gratitude for the privilege of witnessing the power of Truth as revealed in Christian Science impels this testimony. I have been a student of Christian Science over twenty-five years, during which time I have seen problems many and varied healed solely by an understanding of the power and presence of God, Truth, put into practice by consecrated practitioners and students of this Science.

While I was using a paper cutter the heavy, sharp blade fell across my thumbnail, cutting through to the flesh. For a moment the pain was excruciating, but upon my immediate application of the truth the pain ceased. The blood, however, began to flow profusely. Suddenly I remembered that Jesus healed instantly a woman who had had "an issue of blood twelve years" (Mark 5:25). A clear realization filled my consciousness that the same power and presence of God is ever at hand and was with me there and then. The flow of blood stopped immediately. This happened at noon, and an hour later only a thin, pale line was visible across the thumbnail. No material remedy of any kind was used.
