In my childhood I attended an orthodox Sunday School and later taught a class there, although feeling uncertain about what I taught. I loved the Bible as the book of Life, and I gave it much time and study; yet it seemed that God was always afar off. I rejoice in the fact that Mrs. Eddy was unselfish enough to discover the truth through the inspired Word of the Bible and give her discovery to the world.

My first healing came many years ago at a Christian Science lecture. I was healed of scald head, which had been evident from birth and because of which doctors claimed that my hair would never grow. I now have beautiful hair as the result of that healing. A toothache was healed at the same time, and my teeth have given little trouble since then.

I have had many proofs of God's loving care in the business field. For the help I have received from practitioners I am humbly grateful. In 1929 I had the privilege of joining The Mother Church and the Christian Science Society, which is now a branch church, in this city. Shortly afterward I was healed of constipation when my thoughts were directed into more loving channels, and my feeling of always having a hard time and too much work was entirely dispelled. This freedom was realized through the help of a practitioner.
