THE UPWARD WAY

In Christian Science we have found an upward path leading us from the desert and desolation of materialism into the clear and calm glories of Soul. This way is the Christ, the consciousness which includes all that is Godlike, pure, perfect, and spiritual. It is through the Christ that the sick are healed; it is through the Christ that comfort comes to the mourner; and it is through the Christ that the stains of sin are erased.

In Christian Science, emphasis is always on the Christ. The questions then come: How can I be sure I understand the Christ? How can I become more vitally aware of its power? The answer can be given in Jesus' words (Matt. 7:16), "Ye shall know them by their fruits." It is by the healing results which we obtain in our practice of Christian Science that we can be sure we companion with spiritual understanding.
