I did not become interested in...
I did not become interested in Christian Science for a physical healing. A neighbor gave me a Sentinel, and I attended a church service with her. I knew that what I had heard at that service was the truth I had been looking for, and it was not long before I had the opportunity to prove the healing efficacy of Christian Science.
Our daughter, who was then a child, came home from school one day with an earache. She had been subject to these attacks, and up to that time material remedies had been used. This condition presented to me the same decision that the Hebrews had to make when Joshua commanded (Josh. 24: 13), "Choose you this day whom ye will serve." Although many suggestions came to discourage me, I finally took my stand for Christian Science and called a Reading Room to obtain the address of a practitioner. She very lovingly came to the house and worked for our daughter; within a few minutes the child was dressed and out playing. The condition has never returned. This was proof to me that Christian Science heals, and it has been my only physician for over twenty-five years.
I was healed of blood poisoning in two treatments. At a time when I had a great desire to register so that I might vote in a presidential election, I found that I was unable to walk because of this condition. The practitioner was called in the morning, and at five o'clock that evening I was on my way to the polling place perfectly free. An infected finger was instantaneously healed through the help of a practitioner. I realized that I had been listening to mortal mind, and I turned my thought to God. I have also been healed of the need of metatarsal arch supports, which I had worn for many years. I had tried many times previously to do without them, but could not because of the great distress in walking. This healing took place three years ago, and I have walked in perfect comfort ever since.
