Before I became interested in...

Before I became interested in Christian Science I had all my life been subject to severe sore throat. I expected two or three attacks each winter, and I was never disappointed.

The first winter after taking up the study of Christian Science, I awoke one morning with an attack so severe that I could eat no breakfast. I sat down and read the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly, which includes readings from the Bible and from the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. After I had completed this, I found that the condition had disappeared. This was over thirty-five years ago, and I have never had another sore throat, although I have many times been exposed to the conditions which formerly seemed to induce this difficulty.

I am grateful to Mrs. Eddy for Christian Science and also to those men and women who in the early years of Christian Science maintained the Church of Christ, Scientist, which affords all mankind an opportunity to learn the healing truth of God and man. I am also grateful for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, and for class instruction.—Lewis P. Lincoln, East Washington, New Hampshire.
