HARMONY REIGNS

The whole world is yearning for harmony and peace. Nations as well as individuals are searching for a better understanding of each other. But where and how can this be found? More than nineteen hundred years ago Christ Jesus said (Luke 17:21), "The kingdom of God is within you." Is it not then within our consciousness that we must start to demonstrate harmony and peace?

Mary Baker Eddy tells us in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 587) that God is "the great I AM; the all-knowing, all-seeing, all-acting, all-wise, all-loving, and eternal; Principle;Mind; Soul; Spirit; Life; Truth; Love; all substance; intelligence." Therefore God is all-knowing Principle, origin, cause, the source of all true law. He is all-knowing Mind, the only consciousness. God is all-seeing Soul, bestowing beauty, symmetry, spiritual sense; He is all-wise Spirit, substance. God is eternal Life, man's only life. He is all-wise Truth, infinite intelligence. God is our tender, divine Father-Mother Love. This Father-Mother is ever at hand, ever present, all-powerful. We do not have to wait for next year or ten years hence to establish peace and harmony, but we can claim them right now.

In referring to God, Mrs. Eddy says (ibid., p. 331): "He fills all space, and it is impossible to conceive of such omnipresence and individuality except as infinite Spirit or Mind. Hence all is Spirit and spiritual." Therefore man, God's image, is spiritual, eternal, harmonious. He reflects all the qualities of God. Understanding this truth enables one to reflect the law of Principle in his work, his home, his business, and to show forth the divine Mind in patience, kindness, fairness, conscientiousness.
