"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits" (Ps. 103:2). In the year 1896 I experienced my first healing in Christian Science. I had been a semi-invalid for four years as the result of a horse having fallen on me, causing internal injuries and an injured shoulder which prevented me from raising my arm to my head.

At that time a Christian Scientist sent to our field by Mrs. Eddy to introduce Christian Science gave a lecture on the subject, "What Is God?" Her explanations about God changed my thought of the whole world. I could say with the Apostle Paul (II Cor. 5:17), "Old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." I was healed instantly of all my injuries and was happy and free.

I immediately took up the study of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. All through the years the wonderful truth taught in Christian Science has sustained and comforted me, and it has healed all my diseases when rightly applied. Outstanding healings in my immediate family have been of pneumonia, tonsillitis, typhoid fever, goiter, ptomaine poisoning, oak poisoning, broken bones, two cases of cancer, a snake bite, and many other conditions. Some of the healings have taken some time to complete, but many lessons have been learned from them, and much error has been uncovered and destroyed.
