I was led to Christian Science...

I was led to Christian Science about thirty years ago when, after I had searched vainly for many years for a religion or philosophy which could demonstrate faith by works, a friend lent me an English copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Not knowing any English, I had to buy a dictionary in order to understand what I was reading. It took me three hours to get through the first page of the Preface to this book. But what a beginning! I had finally found what I had been looking for, and from then on I spent all my spare time deciphering more of this key to the Scriptures, which answered all my religious aspirations and satisfied my heart and reason.

Soon I began to use in my daily life what knowledge of Science I had acquired, and demonstrations of truth followed one after another. Christian Science was equal to every situation to which I applied it, and it seemed very natural to me. I was led where I should go, introduced to people I could help and to those who could help me. I was provided with funds when needed, healed when I was ill, and protected mentally and physically wherever I went.

Among the healings with which I was blessed there are two or three which stand out in my memory when I begin to count my blessings. During a visit to the United States I suffered from ivy poisoning. The outward manifestation was rather alarming, so I asked help of a Christian Science practitioner whose address a friend had given me. The healing was effected in two treatments. Resentment was found to be the error, hiding behind excuses of self-justification. The remedy pointed out to me was to love more. The moment I was willing to acknowledge the unreality of the error and the infinity of divine Love, I was restored to health. The external symptoms disappeared completely in a single night.
