SEVENTY TIMES SEVEN

[Of Special Interest to Children]

Little Christian Scientists are grateful to God that Christ Jesus has told them of God's goodness and loving care for His people. In Sunday School they learn that Mary Baker Eddy shows how Jesus did his great healing works. One little boy, whose name was Gary, had been going to the Christian Science Sunday School since he was three years old. Although it was hard at first to sit on his small red chair and listen to his teacher, Gary soon learned to love the wonderful Bible stories which told him of God's tender, loving care for His children.

When Gary was enrolled in the second grade at school, he was also placed in a new class at Sunday School. He was very much surprised to find that he had the same teacher in both day school and Sunday School. The new teacher was pleased to see how Gary loved the First Commandment in their Sunday School work. She soon noticed that he was trying to obey the Commandments at day school.

One morning soon after school began, the teacher read for the opening exercise the story of Joseph and his brothers. The children liked the part about Joseph's forgiveness of his brothers' cruel treatment of him. They talked about the loss of his coat of many colors and the way his brothers had thrown him into a pit and then sold him for twenty pieces of silver, and about the years when he had been a slave and in prison in Egypt. They thought it was a lot to forgive!
