It is more than forty years since Christian Science was first brought to my attention. I accepted it gladly because it appealed to me as a practical religion, something that I had been looking for all my life and had not been able to find.

Although I did not come into Christian Science for physical healing, I was healed of a so-called incurable disease which physicians had told me I would never be free from. This healing came about through my reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and the healing has been permanent. Since that time Christian Science has been the only means of healing in our family of five. I have been healed of a sprained ankle, blood poisoning, colds, severe pain, headaches, constipation of many years' standing, of cuts and bruises resulting from an accident, of sorrow when my mother passed on, and of other discordant conditions. Lost articles have been found.

Our three children were brought up without medicine or doctors, except for the required physical examinations at school. They were wonderfully healed or protected through so-called contagious diseases: chicken pox, mumps, whooping cough, measles, and other ailments. Their every need has been met, mostly through our own work, but occasionally with the help of a practitioner.

I am sincerely grateful for Christian Science, for our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for membership in The Mother Church and in a Christian Science Society, where I have had the great privilege of serving, for class instruction from a consecrated student of Mrs. Eddy's, and for our annual association meetings. I wish to verify my wife's testimony.

I first became interested in Christian Science more than forty years ago through a practitioner who was visiting in my mother's home and through talking with two friends who had been healed through this Science.

Since my wife's first healing, mentioned in her testimony, I have never had a doctor or taken any medicine, and only one day have I felt the need for staying in bed.

About twenty years ago my eyes began to trouble me. I tried to work out the problem myself in Christian Science, but did not seem to have sufficient understanding. Finally I asked a friend for help. After she had worked for me for some time she told me that she felt the healing was complete and that no further treatment was necessary. At the time I could see no improvement in my eyesight; but after some month I saw a change for the better, and in a few months more the healing was complete. I have been healed of deafness in one ear and of ptomaine poisoning; and a sore under my left eye was also healed after several months' treatment from a practitioner.

I am grateful that my wife and [could have class instruction at the same time from a student of Mrs. Eddy's. I am also grateful for being a member of The Mother Church and of a Christian Science Society, and for our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who has given us this great truth revealed to her by God.—Francis C.
