THE FIVE G'S

[Of Special Interest to Children]

Joe needed help, and he felt that he was all alone. It was not that there were no other people around him, but none of them were students of Christian Science.

Joe had started attending the Christian Science Sunday School when he was three years old. On his very first Sunday he had learned that God, good, guides, guards, and governs His children always. His mother called these words the five G's and helped him to remember that God was caring for him every minute of every day. Joe often repeated these words, especially when error tried to whisper that everything was not as it should be.

Now Joe was spending a few days in the mountains with a friend. The two boys had a fine time hiking in the mountains, rowing on the lake, and sitting by the campfire at suppertime. When night came, they were both ready to go to bed after such busy days. Joe always went right to sleep, but one night he awakened later and found that his head was hot and his throat was sore and dry.
