From early girlhood I had been an active church worker and an ardent student of the Bible; but I did not have a very satisfying understanding of God and of man's relationship to Him until Christian Science came to my notice through copies of the Sentinel which a student of Christian Science brought to our art studio each week.

For weeks I held on to and read these copies, not knowing that they were available to those who were not members of the Christian Science church. When later I learned about the Reading Rooms I visited them often, reading and borrowing Christian Science literature until I was led to subscribe to the periodicals and to purchase Mrs. Eddy's writings. Some years later I was privileged to join a branch church and to become a member of The Mother Church.

For thirty-five years Christian Science has been my only physician, and it is impossible to express in words my appreciation of the innumerable blessings which have been mine through its heartening ministrations. Healings have been many, some with the help of loving practitioners, others through my own understanding, I was divinely protected when a streetcar just missed running over me. A lost purse containing articles of great value was returned intact. The healing thought in the latter case was a citation from page 571 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, which was in the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly for that week, "Know thyself, and God will supply the wisdom and the occasion for a victory over evil."
