In Psalms (30:11,12) we read: "Thou hast... girded me with gladness; to the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever." Christian Science means more to me than words can express. Both my parents were Christian Science practitioners, and I grew up in a home where much love and inspiration was expressed.

As a child I was healed of infantile paralysis, and the healing has been permanent. I have led a very active life and have enjoyed strenuous sports. After graduating from college I was enabled to find employment at a time when jobs seemed rather difficult to obtain. At the beginning of the Second World War, I was given a responsible position which among other things involved the supervision of a large and inexperienced staff. At times we seemed very rushed and confused, but almost daily I was grateful to see situations improve when time was prayerfully taken to declare the omniscience and all-ness of God. Interesting promotions and suitable increases in salary followed.

My fiance, who was overseas on active duty with the Canadian Army for five and a half years, was wonderfully protected all that time. The ninety-first Psalm was a great inspiration to both of us. After his return home we were married; and we have found that in working out our problems in Christian Science we have helped each other to progress spiritually.
