HONESTY IS POWER

[Of Special Interest to Children]

One day a very much loved dog belonging to two children disappeared. No one saw her leave, for the children, Nancy and Dale, were in school, their father was at work, and their mother was busy at her desk. When it was discovered that Judy was not there, a thorough search of the neighborhood was made, but she was not found.

Everyone who knew Judy loved her because, besides being a very beautiful dog, she had a happy disposition. When several days went by and Judy did not return, the neighbors said that Judy had been stolen and that such a valuable dog would not be returned. Nancy, Dale, and their mother, however, knew the neighbors did not understand that Christian Science heals every inharmonious condition when its teachings are understood and correctly applied.

The Bible states (Gen. 1:27, 31): "God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him;" and, "God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." Therefore man eternally expresses the qualities and attributes of his creator. Mary Baker Eddy defines God thus: "The great I AM; the all-knowing, all-seeing, all-acting, all-wise, all-loving, and eternal; Principle; Mind; Soul; Spirit; Life; Truth; Love; all substance; intelligence" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 587). Mrs. Eddy also states on the same page, "God is one God, infinite and perfect, and cannot become finite and imperfect." If we accept the truth of God's eternal perfection, we must also accept the eternal nature and perfection of man, made in God's image and likeness. Man, therefore, must express absolute integrity and purity.
