When Christian Science was presented to me eighteen years ago, I was a victim of false education, false appetites, physical ailments, and fear. My thought was so darkened by material learning that it took three years of constant, consecrated study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and Mary Baker Eddy's other writings before the light of Truth broke through the clouds of darkness.

I was healed of the smoking habit of twenty-five years' standing when attending my first Christian Science lecture. Many false appetites disappeared as I grew in spiritual understanding. I am profoundly grateful for the healing of colitis in one treatment by a practitioner. Before I came into Christian Science, this trouble was much aggravated. Doctors placed me on a diet, but all in vain. But spiritual understanding broke the mesmerism, and I was able to eat anything I wanted.

A healing of kidney stones was made possible through the help of a consecrated practitioner. The difficulty appeared again some time later, and the final destruction of this error came when I had gained a better understanding of divine Principle, Love. The still small voice of Truth saying, "Be faithful," was heard many times during this fiery trial. The practitioner gave me courage to go on as I went through deep waters, helping me to hold to the truth and to know that Mind removes all obstacles.
