Our family has enjoyed the blessings of Christian Science for twenty-nine years and has had many healings. In fact, my first healing took place six years previous to the time I took up the study of this Science.

We lived in the East at that time, and my lungs became affected, so we moved to the country. There a dear friend brought us an old copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and told us that people had been healed by reading this book. One day I opened it to the chapter on Prayer and read for a short time. A feeling of strength came over me, and I was so free I ran into the house and told my mother how wonderful I felt. My next visit to the doctor was the last. He said that I was fine and that the country had done wonders for me. I did not then realize that it was the reading of Science and Health that had brought about the healing.

After we came to California, we became seriously interested in Christian Science. The minute I reread the chapter on Prayer in Science and Health I knew what had taken place six years earlier. At this time I was healed of constipation, which had been trouble some all my life. The next eighteen years we enjoyed good health, protection, and prosperity. Our children were born and raised through the help of Christian Science, and all their sicknesses were quickly overcome when we applied what we understood of God and our relationship to Him.
