My heart is filled with gratitude...

My heart is filled with gratitude for the healing I experienced of deafness in both ears. This was not a quick healing, but much spiritual growth was gained. The practitioner who helped me pointed out the true nature of God. She showed me that God is All and that man is the perfect manifestation of that allness; therefore all the qualities that God possesses, man, as the image of God, reflects.

Gradually I was led to see, as Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health (p. 303), "God, without the image and likeness of Himself, would be a nonentity, or Mind unexpressed. He would be without a witness or proof of His own nature. Spiritual man is the image or idea of God, an idea which cannot be lost nor separated from its divine Principle."

It was my acceptance of the truth of the inseparability of God and man which led to the final healing. The fact of hearing had been mine forever, for as an individual idea of God, I manifested the divine qualities through my consciousness of God, good; and I saw the truth of Mrs. Eddy's statement (ibid., p. 213): "The ear does not really hear, Divine Science reveals sound as communicated through the senses of Soul—through spiritual understanding."
