Greater Public Interest in Christian Science

Italy

Observing the mental fermentation in this country, it is evident that old beliefs are losing their grasp and are breaking down, often giving place to a deep and honest search for something new and better. It reminds one of the Bible prophecy, "I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: ... until he come whose right it is." It is a challenge for us to do our very best. Mrs. Eddy says in "Rudimental Divine Science" (p.17): "The ways of Christianity have not changed. Meekness, selflessness, and love are the paths of His testimony and the footsteps of His flock."

Though we have very little Christian Science literature in Italian at the moment, there is an increasing interest in Science and a slow but steady growth of membership among the Italian-speaking people, chiefly due to the healing work being done. Besides the recognized church in Florence, and societies in Milan and Rome, there are several informal groups in Italy. The Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly are translated into Italian and regularly distributed.
