Signs of the Times
Rev. Jack Leather in the Gazette
Weymouth, Massachusetts
Happiness comes not from getting and spending and laying waste our powers, but in giving ourselves to that which is the best and highest and most noble, in serving God and man. A happy heart, a good conscience, and a strong, satisfying faith in God and man come to those who are merciful, kind, pure in heart, who suffer with patience that God's Word might be witnessed to in this world.
These are the qualities of godly character that make a man's heart light and put a song of joy on his lips.
