THE CHRIST AND WORLD PROBLEMS

One of the most familiar sayings of our beloved Master, and one frequently quoted by the Christian world, is found in John (8:32): "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." The so-called human mind is apt to set limits to whatever is beyond it, namely the divine; and so in general we find these words of the Master's applied only to personal affairs. Christian Science removes the limits set up by the human mind, and these words take on added significance.

What present force, what dynamic and transforming power with respect to world problems, lies in the undying nature of these words of Jesus': "Ye shall know the truth [the Christ], and the truth [the Christ] shall make you free." As Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, puts it so beautifully in her "Communion Hymn" (Poems, p. 75),
