It is now over seventeen years since I began the study of Christian Science, and although I have verbally given thanks in testimony meetings many times. I feel that I cannot longer delay expressing gratitude in writing for the many blessings I have received through Christian Science.

My wife and I began the study of this Science at the same time, and it was indeed a great comfort in the raising of our five children. Sometimes with the aid of a practitioner, but more often through our own efforts, so-called children's diseases and main other ills and discords were overcome.

One of our greatest fears was of croup when the children were small. One night when we had been students for only a short time, this dreaded disease presented itself. After noticing the condition of our little girl as she lay in her crib, I withdrew to another room and sought earnestly to know the truth which would dispel the error. First, I worked to eliminate fear and to release all parental claims on the child, to see that God was her real Father-Mother. Then I sought to see the omnipotence of God and to know that He was the source of all activity. In a short time the child was breathing normally, and it gradually became evident that a complete healing had taken place. We were never confronted with this error again.
