Truth makes a new creature,...

"Truth makes a new creature, in whom old things pass away and 'all things are become new.'" These words on page 201 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, have indeed been proved in my case.

Through the wonderful ministrations of Christian Science I have been spiritually reborn. I have known about Christian Science practically all my life and had healings at school through the loving help of practitioners; but it was not until my middle teens that I began to feel the need of being able to make practical use of this Science. I lived in a quiet part of the country at that time, and there was no one in my immediate family with whom I could discuss the subject or from whom I could get help. I was believed to be a sensitive, highly strung girl, and I suffered frequently from sickness, severe headaches, and other pains, which I was told were due to the condition of my nerves.

Evil then seemed very real and God afar off, for I had only a blind faith in Christian Science and had not really seen the truth. I had very dear uncles and aunts who helped me greatly, but they were not close by. I had a hard struggle for a few years, with many setbacks, and often felt I might never understand Christian Science, although I felt certain it was right.
