I have been experiencing the blessings of Christian Science for almost twenty years and am deeply grateful to God for leading me to the truth. From the time I was a baby until I reached maturity I was constantly sick and miserable. I was not allowed to eat certain foods, nor was I allowed to work. I had undergone two operations, but was nothing bettered. Once when I asked the doctor when I should be well, he replied, "We cannot cure the disease; we can only give you relief." I was suffering from Basedow's disease, a nervous disorder, heart disease, and later on from high blood pressure.

When I heard the doctor's verdict, I was much depressed. Then I reasoned that God is just. He does not make some people ill and some well. When I arrived home, I threw away all my medicine and said to my husband, "I am not going to the doctor again." I began to wonder whether I was doing the right thing. During that seemingly critical time God sent me the answer, for a friend whom I had not seen in years came to see me. She was a Christian Scientist and told me about Christian Science. The next day she took me with her to a Wednesday evening testimony meeting.
