To help me in a business which...
To help me in a business which I started shortly after the Second World War I bought a small motor van which, although not of late model, was in running order and suitable for my immediate requirements. After I had had this van for a short while, certain defects became evident, and it did not appear to be running too well. Several other difficulties began to arise in connection with business, causing me to become very much disturbed and agitated. Before long this state of thought manifested itself in the form of severe blood poisoning in my right arm, although the trouble was attributed erroneously to so-called material law and the fact that I had recently caught my hand on a rusty nail. The condition became so severe that I began to be very fearful, and terrifying suggestions crept into my thoughts. My wife then lovingly recommended that I seek help from a Christian Science practitioner. This I did.
The practitioner uncovered the trouble almost at once over the telephone, and I was helped to see that as I replaced wrong concepts of man with the true idea and saw each of my business associates as in reality God's perfect idea, knowing that the man of God's creating reflects divine Principle and is loving and truthful, I would experience a complete healing. As I regained my calm sense of being God's child, secure in His care, and expressed lining thoughts towards my fellow men, all inflammation disappeared and a complete healing was experienced in a few days, leaving me with a great sense of gratitude. From then on harmony became more evident in my business affairs, and I have since been guided into a different and more satisfying sphere of activity.
I cannot but feel grateful for the many wonderful experiences and blessings that have come to me through the demonstration of this practical religion of Christian Science, which is indeed the law of God. It teaches us to know the truth relative to any seeming problem which may arise in our human experience and to understand with the Psalmist that "we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture" (Ps. 100:3).—Ronald C. H. Young, Blackpool, Lancashire, England.
