"The seekers of the light are one"

[The paragraphs following are quoted extracts from letters and reports received from Reading Room librarians and church boards.]

Recently one who had once been a member of The Mother Church and of a branch church, but had dropped her membership in both and had given her books away upon marrying one of a different faith, came into the Reading Room and purchased two Sentinels. After telling of her experience in turning from Science, she said she had been interested to see the advertisement of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, in our local newspaper and expressed appreciation for the conveniently located Reading Room. She seemed to feel that she must attend church services again.

Our lending library has been exceptionally active this month. Beginning students have borrowed Science and Health to read and have returned it to purchase their have returned it to purchase their own copies. Several who have read the textbook have asked about the use of the Quarterly and the study of the Lesson-Sermons. We have also had some lovely experiences in introducing inquirers to the Bible. One young man who made his first acquaintance with the Bible in our Reading Room told the librarian that he had never known that "God is so near." A woman who read a passage in John saw for the first time that God is really Love. She was filled with a new joy in that knowledge. Another woman's response to some beautiful Scriptural passages was: "God's will must really, then, be good for us. I never saw that before."
