With profound gratitude to God I herewith testify that my whole life has been fundamentally changed since I became an adherent of Christian Science.

"Spiritual sense is a conscious, constant capacity to understand God." This statement on page 209 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy I have made my rule of life, and so I survived the last war.

I was in a Russian and, later on, a Czech prison camp. Through false accusation I had been condemned to death by shooting, but shortly before the execution of the sentence, through my own spiritual work, the power of Truth was proved. My understanding of infinite Truth led to the uncovering of the lies of my accusers, and I was freed. I was taken to another camp, and from then on the treatment accorded me steadily improved. Later on, when a Red Cross commission came to the prison camp and facts regarding the treatment of prisoners were ascertained, I was scheduled for release.
