"NOW IS THE DAY OF SALVATION"

Paul said (Phil. 2:12, 13): "Work out your own salvation, ... For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure;" and he also said (II Cor. 6:2), "Behold, now is the day of salvation." Mary Baker Eddy in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with key to the Scriptures" (p. 593), defines "salvation" as "Life, Truth, and Love understood and demonstrated as supreme over all; sin, sickness, and death destroyed." These statements indicate that salvation is individual, that it is attainable by everyone now, and that it includes complete release from all the claims of error.

Christian Science teaches that God is omnipotent, omnipresent, all-knowing Mind, Soul, Spirit, Life, Truth, and Love, and that man is His beloved child, the perfect reflection of this one God. Man, His image and likeness, has therefore no need to be saved from anything; he is already at the point of perfection.

Salvation comes through one's understanding of man's at-one-ment with God, Spirit, and in the degree one is in complete obedience to the First Commandment, having no other gods but God. Salvation has no time element, and it is our inalienable right, as well as our duty, to claim our at-one-ment with God at any time, all the time.
