GIRT WITH POWER

A Student of Christian Science was concerned about something he had to do which seemed very difficult. Then he thought of Solomon's experience when he was made king of Israel. Solomon felt that, as a human person, he could not perform the task; but he turned to God as the source of all wisdom and earnestly prayed that His perfect wisdom and understanding might be manifested through him.

The student realized that while of himself he could do nothing, all things are possible to him who knows that God is made manifest through His ideas. He declared that not through any sense of human ability, but through the understanding of man as reflecting God's intelligence and ability, this work could be done. Because of this realization of the truth of God and man the work was done both joyously and well.

The one who did so much for us and showed us the way of true accomplishment said (John 5:17), "My Father worketh hitherto, and I work." Christ Jesus knew man, not as having a mind, will, and life of his own, but as reflecting divine Mind, the perfect Life, and moving in accordance with the divine order of being.
