For many years I had searched the teachings of different orthodox churches for the "something" that I felt was real and as yet had not been able to find. Through years of ill-health I had been incessantly praying for guidance into the path of righteousness.

It was when one of our four girls, who was five at the time, suffered from an incorrect setting of a broken leg, that we were introduced to Christian Science. The leg bone at that time was resting on the ankle joint at an angle, which would necessitate the wearing of a brace for some years, according to a bone specialist. Our state of mental frustration made us receptive to Science, and we immediately engaged the help of a practitioner. The progress, shown by the sets of X rays taken every month for the next six months, was astounding to the specialists, and our joyful gratitude overflowed to God. She had no medical treatment. Today her leg is perfectly straight, and action is normal. Words cannot express my gratitude for Christian Science and for what it has done for our family. It was surely a wonderful ray of light which penetrated our dungeon of material thinking and living.

We have had many healings, including those of tonsillitis, colds, oak poisoning, blood poisoning, spinal trouble, constipation, grief over passing of a loved one, inharmony, and undesirable character traits. All healings of disease have been permanent, while harmony has increased and character traits have greatly improved, with work still to be done in ridding our mental garden of weeds and rocks of inharmonious thoughts.
