AFFLICTIONS CAN BRING BLESSINGS

There is no power which can rob man of the blessings God has bestowed upon him. "It is impossible that man should lose aught that is real, when God is all and eternally his," we read on page 302 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Because God's love never fails or varies, His blessings are continuous. It is God's will that His children be bountifully endowed with all good, and since God is omnipotent, His will is irresistible and irreversible.

Through earnest study of Christian Science, God's law, which reveals the permanency of health, one seemingly attacked by sickness can awaken to the fact that sickness is illegitimate, for Science reveals man's heritage from his loving Father-Mother God as changeless health. Therefore disease must be only an illusion, and its pretense must yield to the understanding of spiritual reality.

This spiritual understanding reveals the reality and continuity of health and frees one from fear and the mortal dream of sickness. Through the application of God's law, what seems to be a menace to one's harmony becomes an opportunity for spiritual enlightenment and growth.
