The eternal God is thy refuge...
"The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms" (Deut. 33:27).
This Bible verse expresses what Christian Science means to me. It is more than thirty years since I had my first Christian Science treatment. I was teaching school and fell victim to the argument that I could lose my voice through repeated attacks of laryngitis. After a week's treatment and study of the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I was healed. There was one final repetition of the trouble several years later, which was overcome with one treatment.
Christian Science was introduced into our home by the healing of my mother. After she had been ill for years and had had many kinds of medical treatment, my father was informed that she had less than two years to live. The family doctor urged that Christian Science treatment be tried. Diseases of the kidneys, stomach, and heart and a goiter yielded to the truth poured into consciousness through Science treatment and faithful study of the Bible and the textbook. For the blessing of having my mother with us for more than twenty years after that, I am deeply grateful.
