"HE MAKETH WARS TO CEASE"

Christian Science, after eighty-three years of subjection to practically every kind of test, continues to grow and flourish. Its claims to heal and save are vindicated, and its practicality is proved. Every man, woman, and child touched by its tender beneficence is changed for the better, and wherever an individual manifests an improved nature, behold a happier home, a better business, a more useful citizen.

Christ Jesus told his disciples they were "the light of the world," and the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, reiterates the same truth when she speaks of her followers in identical terms (see Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 367). At present these representatives of the light are comparatively few and scattered, but as Christian Science spreads, the light will grow brighter and eventually dispel the darkness of ignorance and fear. Earth's sky contains vast constellations, made up of individual stars, each of which gives forth light. Whenever a follower of the master Christian, Christ Jesus, expresses unselfishness, wisdom, intelligence, and love, he is uniting with others to form constellations of true light, reflections of that central light in which "is no darkness at all."

Christian Science teaches that just as material darkness fades before the first beams of the rising sun, so the darkness of ignorance yields to the dawning light of Truth and Love. The unifying power of the one Mind serves to lift the thoughts of men to the contemplation of the universe of Mind. In this spiritual universe abound the persuasive qualities of gentleness, wisdom, purity, and innocence, and man is found in the likeness of his Maker, forever conscious of his unity with his divine source. There is no ignorance in this realm to be dispelled. All is harmony and unfolding bliss, wherein are no warring factions or contumacious beliefs in the power of evil. All is as devoid of mortal mind as when God beheld His handiwork and saw it to be "very good."
