A Worth-while Recommendation

Heartening results from using the "Recommendations for Lecture Arrangements" prepared by The Christian Science Board of Lectureship have been reported by a Christian Science Society located in one of the Central States. The clerk of the society writes, in part: "I cannot too highly recommend each committee adhering to the instructions contained therein. I was surprised at the wealth of information and inspiration it contains and read from it at our meeting held two weeks prior to the lecture."

The forthcoming lecture was advertised twice in the local paper, a larger, differently worded advertisement being used the second time. Advertisements were also inserted in two other country papers, using more linage than in former years. Each of the three papers carried a different press release selected from those submitted by the lecturer. Twenty-five window card advertisements were displayed locally and in two neighboring communities, and a sizable number of invitations carrying a message of Christian Science healing were mailed to those it was felt would be interested in the lecture.

When the lecture was delivered, all but eight of the prepared seats were occupied, and the attendance more than tripled that of the lecture given two years previously.
