My heart is full of gratitude to God for Christian Science. Before I knew about this glorious truth I was very ill. The doctors told me that my body would become stiff and paralyzed, and their prophecy was soon fulfilled. For a whole year I had to lie in bed. The doctors maintained that I would not live much longer, and all necessary steps were taken; even the foster parents for my child were appointed. Mud baths were recommended, which I took and which seemed to benefit me. But after several weeks I suffered a relapse.

Then my attention was drawn to Christian Science. My joy and faith in God for the chance to be healed were so great that I made a fifty kilometer trip by train that very day in order to attend a Wednesday evening testimony meeting, though I was in great pain. Upon entering the church edifice, I read the verse on the wall (Matt. 21:22), "All things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." I held to these words. Then I asked for Christian Science treatment and was completely healed.

I have also been healed of kidney and bladder trouble, from which I had suffered for seven years, and I was healed of suppuration in my head. A professor in Berlin who examined me stated that I had a bad tumor in my stomach which had to be operated upon at once. I did not consent to having an operation, but went to a Christian Science practitioner and was healed in one treatment. The following day I went to see the professor, who had to state that the tumor had completely disappeared.
