Houston, Texas (Third Church).

Third Church of Christ, Scientist. Houston, Almeda Road at Binz, was dedicated recently.

Designed in the mission style of architecture, the building was completed in September, 1928.

The church was organized in 1922 by members of First Church of Christ, Scientist, who wanted a church in the southeastern section of the city.

Recognition was given the group as a branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts.

First services of the new church were held in the auditorium of the Henry House Building at Capitol and Milam in June, 1922. Later in the month a Reading Room was opened in the Zindler Building.

In 1924 a small church building at McKinney and Milam, a former home of a Lutheran church, was rented and remodeled. Later the Reading Room was moved to the First National Bank Building.

The property for the present church was purchased in February, 1928, and the building cornerstone was laid in May. First services in the new church were held on September 9, 1928.—Houston Post.
