It has always been my desire to express my gratitude for Christian Science and for our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, whose devotion to God enabled her to give to the world this wonderful religion. The healings are small in comparison with the enlightenment and peace one acquires after studying her wonderful textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."

I really began studying Christian Science after our baby was born. She was born at seven months, and the doctors claimed there was no hope for her. Her stomach was not fully developed, and due to a deformity, she was unable to take nourishment except by stomach tube. My husband and I were not Christian Scientists, but my mother, who knew that I was interested, inquired if I would like her to call a practitioner. My reply was, "Yes." From that time on the baby improved rapidly.

This daughter, when she reached the age of five, was healed of partial deafness. My husband, who was still not a Scientist, asked me to take her to an ear specialist. But upon doing so, I found that she must have an operation immediately or she would eventually become completed deaf. In the meantime I had a practitioner working for the child and myself. My husband was preparing to take her into another city to be examined by another doctor when to his surprise she suddenly could hear.
