The "influence" available to all in finding the road to success
TRUE ADVANCEMENT
Everyone desires to advance. To accomplish it, one uses varied methods, which range from persistent and intelligent effort to dependence on chance and personal influence.
Christian Science is an invaluable aid for advancing in any righteous endeavor. Through it one learns the necessity of expressing honesty, unselfishness, courage, and trust in good in order to progress, and he perceives that dishonesty and chance can never bring true advancement.
Christian Science teaches that the only true advancement is spiritual and results from persistent striving to understand better the truth of God, man, and the universe. God is Spirit, Mind, the only Principle, cause, and creator. Because God is good, His universe, including man, must necessarily be Godlike, spiritual, and good. The opposite of God, called evil or error, cannot then be real and has neither power nor presence. One advances as he grasps these truths and their many corollaries.
