THE MIRACLE OF GRACE
In the Gospel of John we read, "The law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ."
The Ten Commandments given to the children of Israel by Moses, which enjoin men to have but one God and forbid them to deal with their fellow man in any but a just and righteous manner, are the basis for all good legislation. The stern letter of this law implies condemnation of all who do not follow it.
Christ Jesus fulfilled the law by bringing out in his teaching and practice healing rather than condemnation. This was the "grace and truth" which his life exemplified.
