"Here choose I. Joy be the consequence!" The opportunity and the decision

REJECT AND REFLECT

In many large factories where machine parts or units are made and assembled, every item is carefully inspected for flaws, or imperfections, and either rejected or passed to assure a final complete and perfect unit. This is analogous to the inspection each sincere seeker for Truth must give his thoughts if he would spiritualize his consciousness and attain the perfection, or wholeness, which is inherent in the child of God. If any thought bears flaws, or characteristics opposed to the perfection of God, it must be promptly rejected and replaced by one which reflects the harmonious, peaceful, perfect nature of Deity.

Christian Science shows us how to reject error and reflect Truth, it teaches that to reflect God in thought, word, and deed requires an understanding of spiritual sonship, the coexistence of God and man as Father and son. Clearing one's thinking of falsities or ungodlike traits for pure, Christlike qualities is necessary in the demonstration of man's God-given perfection. This is fittingly termed spiritualization of thought.

Our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, writes these inspiring words in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" p. 336): "The spiritual man's consciousness and individuality are reflections of God. They are the emanations of Him who is Life, Truth, and Love." Our real selfhood, therefore, is eternally perfect, without blemish. As we acknowledge reality—the completeness of ever-present divine Love—and stanchly declare man to be God's image and likeness; as we deny the existence of anything apart from God and denounce resentment, impatience, fear, and so on, we are rejecting the illusions of material sense, Thus we realize our at-one-ment with eternal, omnipotent Mind.
