Of Good Report

Some time ago a man came into the Reception Room of the Administration Building of The Mother Church and asked if he could go through the Church. He explained that he was an architect from a western state and very much interested in the Church construction, although he was not a Christian Scientist. It was a Friday, and he was told that the Church was open to the public that day.

When he returned, he was enthralled and spoke of the Original Edifice as being a jewel without one flaw. Later in the day he again visited the Reception Room, saying that he had made a second tour of the Church and was so impressed with the outline of the two edifices that if he were making a blueprint of them, the Original Mother Church would be in the shape of a cross and the Extension in that of a crown. He then pointed to "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy and said, "Your symbol there is the idea, but with the crown above the cross."

As he purchased a Christian Science Sentinel and a copy of The Christian Science Monitor, the appreciative architect volunteered the information that he was changing his plane reservation so that he could attend a service in The Mother Church.
